Although developers dwell in sections scattered here and there - there isn't any real social-network-like environment for devs to associate with others in the kind of way in which you experienced @ WordCamp. What sort of ideas or things might you like to see in a community like that though and at what point does it become to big? Eg. XDA... I think the problem with XDA is its board-like-structure. Forums are a successful model but don't promote cohesiveness through its format and distribution of information. SO - the Q&A beast is just that... good for Q&A but there is an element of elitism there too. WPUnity if and when released could be good?
